Adhitya Hrudayam was chanted by Sage Agasthya to Lord Rama in the battlefield. Lord Rama was feeling a little down when Sage Agasthya chanted this powerful mantra to give Him the strength. This mantra features in the Yudha Kandam of the Valmiki Ramayanam. Valmiki himself acknowledges the fact that the mantra is older than the epic itself. Adhitya Hrudayam is a mantra that glorifies Lord Surya who is also known as Adhitya. Benefits of reciting Adhitya Hrudayam are that it destroys all sins and removes all your self doubts, it alleviates your worry, sorrow, anxiety, mental stress and also increases life span.
